Future Employees, Your Local Youth! There is a top-quality youth leadership program that is in need of community support. The Illinois Teenage Institute (ITI) is designed for youth who have demonstrated leadership potential in their schools and communities. ITI, funded in part by the Illinois Department of Human Services, is a comprehensive education and training program that gives teenagers the skills necessary to recognize and reduce high-risk behaviors. This national award winning prevention program emphasizes positive peer influence and helps youth and adults join together to prevent alcohol and other drug use. There are two Illinois Teen Institutes being held July 9-13 and July 23-27 at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois. In many instances, your local youth will become your next generation of employees, so if you know of kids in your community who would benefit from this program, or if your company would like to sponsor a local youth, please call Jennifer Marwick, Prevention Coordinator with ITI, at 800-252-6301 or 217-528-7335.
