Age and the Job SearchWorkers under age 50 job searched 3.58 months in the first quarter while workers over age 50 had to look only a few days more, at 3.85 months to find a new job. The gap has nearly disappeared, according to Chicago search firm Challenger, Gray and Christmas, since survey results compiled four years ago that indicated it took those over age 50 a full month longer.
